About
It is with great excitement and pride that I present my professional profile. As an educator and leader I am dedicated to teaching and learning through purposeful, inquiry-based, child-centered experiences. It is my belief that the education of the whole child is essential to developing intelligent, insightful individuals.
My experience as an educator spans over twenty-one years. I am currently the Director of Elementary PPS, UPK, CPSE & K-8 Assessments in the Syosset Central School District. This important work encompasses leading families and students through their first formal experiences in school beginning with Universal Prekindergarten. With compassion and integrity, I also guide families through the special education process and support their understanding of their child's disability. It is my priveledge to be an advocate for students with learning differences.
Prior to being a Director, I was the proud Principal of Sea Cliff School in the North Shore Central School District. During my time as the instructional leader of the building, I introduced several new initiatives, one of which was the RULER Approach from Yale's Center for Emotional Intelligence. Additionally, Sea Cliff School embarked on and was designated as a No Place for Hate School with Distinction. Academically, we received an exceptional ranking as #11 ranked elementary school in NY state designated by US News & World Report. Concurrently, I had the privledge of leading the learning community through the COVID-19 Pandemic. As co-chair and lead writer of the North Shore Schools Reopening Plan, it was paramount that we reopen school safely while ensuring that all students and families had access to mental health and academic supports.
Prior to becoming an administrator, my extensive experience in the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District ranged from elementary classroom educator, reading specialist, lead teacher, and Academic Intervention Services Coordinator where I had the privilege of supporting hundreds of learners on their educational journey.
In addition to my role as educator, I am a very proud wife and mother of three wonderfully creative and talented boys.
